Chris Clark, Chairman Emeritus

Chris Clark is the grandson of W.G. Clark, the firm’s founder. He first worked for the firm during summers in high school, starting in 1965. After graduating from Whitman College in 1971 (B.A. Economics), he joined the company full time. As business was much reduced from the levels of the late 1960s, he was able to function as general manager within a short time, and he began purchasing the company from his father, Don Clark, in 1973. Chris held the position of president until 1997, when he became chairman. He has overseen the company’s growth from $600,000 a year to over $70,000,000 per year in his tenure. Chris now holds the honorary position of chairman emeritus.
Chris has served as board president of the AGC of Washington, the AGC Education Foundation, and the Rotary Boys and Girls Club. He is an active member of Seattle Rotary #4 and has overseen building projects as facilities co-chair at Childhaven and University Preparatory Academy.
