The luxurious 91-room Heathman Hotel in downtown Kirkland was designed to complement both historic and newer buildings. Because some easements couldn’t be obtained from the adjacent property owners, parking and garage decks were built around an extensive raker shoring system. This contained the shoring within the site boundary and was removed once the floors were complete. The metal framed walls were fabricated and panelized off site, allowing them to be erected quickly after delivery, without a need for lengthy storage. W.G. Clark built both the hotel and the award-winning Trellis, a 90-seat Napa Valley-style restaurant and bar.
